Course Objectives
Sustainable development, climate change, energy security and ecosystem degradation have emerged as key challenges and new market opportunities for the 21st century. The course is intended to familiarize graduate students with these challenges, developing a solid understanding of the opportunities related to sustainability and providing the analytical framework required to succeed in building a sustainable business model and a resilient organization.
The course provides knowledge of environmental and energy risks, relevant regulatory frameworks and corporate strategic responses with specific emphasis on firm innovation processes. It equips students with skills and competencies to address quantitative and qualitative problems related to these new challenges. It includes the exam of best practices and various case studies showing how firms can meet sustainable goals and market/financial goals. The format is based on active learning and includes lectures, case studies, videos, incidents and class discussion, qualified speakers from companies and agencies.
