The main career opportunities for Economia e legislazione per l'impresa graduates are:

Expert in administrative, corporate and tax areas

Graduates write and analyze the main business reports used in external communication (financial statements, consolidated financial statements, company accounts). They carry out auditing activities of administrative processes, compliance with regulations regarding responsibility of governance and corporate requirements (drawing up and keeping the books). They also take care of tax requirements (calculating taxes, writing up tax returns, etc.).

Skills associated with the position:
Graduates possess qualified knowledge and advanced skills in business and economics, corporate issues and taxation for drawing up financial statements, consolidated financial statements and company accounts.
They understand accounting techniques, administrative procedures and company legislation to be complied with for effective and correct governance.
They understand tax legislation and related requirements (types of tax returns and related deadlines) regarding direct and indirect taxation.
They can interact with professionals, jurists, managers, entrepreneurs and public administration officials, facilitating dialogue.

Career opportunities:
Graduates will work in auditing firms, accounting firms, legal and tax firms and within companies (legal and corporate affairs, administration and accounting and investor relations).
To practice as an auditor and chartered accountant, a state exam must be passed. (An agreement with the Ordine Territoriale di Milano dei Dottori Commercialisti e degli Esperti Contabili [Chartered Accountants and Accountants Territorial Council of Milan] is in force for the program, which exempts students/graduates from the first written exam and allows for a 6-month traineeship during the last year of the MSc.)

Expert in business combinations, crisis management and corporate restructuring

Graduates find effective solutions to problems related to intercompany collaboration and combination (business combination) and follow its procedural and assessment aspects. They apply methods and instruments for measuring and assessing corporate performances.
They develop restructuring plans, business plans and economic-financial simulations; they oversee the reformulation of corporate governance structures and follow its implementation in compliance with legislation.

Skills associated with the position:
Graduates possess qualified knowledge and advanced skills in business and economics, corporate issues and taxation, in particular related to:

  • corporate evaluation models and related impacts of a fiscal, accounting and corporate nature;
  • techniques of planning mergers, demergers, transfers and liquidation in companies;
  • legislation and requirements for business combinations (listing, bond issue, delisting, etc.);
  • regulatory instruments for the management of corporate distress (compositions, debt restructuring plans, etc.) or for liquidating a company.

They can interact with professionals, jurists, managers, entrepreneurs and public administration officials, facilitating dialogue.

Career opportunities:

Graduates will work in consulting firms, accounting firms, legal firms and financial institutions.
