The main career opportunities for Economics and Management of Government and International Organizations graduates are:
 

Management expert in public administration and international institutions
 

Role in a work setting:
Graduates work on management activities of public bodies (local, national, international and supranational) or private organizations that have close contact with the public sector (e.g. healthcare, social services and non-profit) with particular focus on the areas of strategic planning, organization and control of human resources or management of special projects (e.g. institutional building and development). In addition, graduates work as consultants or counterparts outside public organizations and institutions within private companies, mainly large companies, working on, for instance, management of institutional affairs and relations, defining and implementing corporate social responsibility and market access strategies.

Skills associated with the role:
Graduates possess qualified knowledge and advanced skills in the field of the functioning and management specifics of public administrations and international institutions. They also have knowledge and skills regarding business management methods and administration of relations between public and private organizations, with particular reference to administration, organization and control, public finance, management of human resources and strategic planning of such institutions. These skills are combined with an understanding of the underlying reasons and methods on how public policies are created, including specific analysis of the various sectors in which the public operates (such as transportation, healthcare, energy), and the economic and management implications that follow.

Career opportunities:
Graduates will work in: public administrations and international and supranational institutions, NGOs, non-profit companies, social enterprises, companies and institutions in the healthcare and social services sector, medium and large private companies (especially those working in highly regulated sectors), consulting firms.

Role in a work setting:
Graduates contribute both to defining public policies, especially regarding activities of an economic nature (infrastructure, healthcare, public enterprises, sectoral development policies). Graduates also analyze and assess the impact and effectiveness of such policies on the dynamics of the system in which the intervention occurs (including competitive, developmental and international exposure dynamics).

Skills associated with the role:
Graduates possess qualified knowledge and advanced skills in the field of defining public interventional policies in economics and the connection between public development policies at national, European and global levels. Also, based on specific analyses, they understand how to assess the effectiveness of policies undertaken and their impact on the dynamics of the system in which the intervention occurs. They also have an in-depth understanding of the functioning of public enterprises and institutions, their features at a management level and the way in which they can influence the implementation of policies related to the public sector as such. Particular focus is placed on the specific dynamics of the sector of healthcare and social services and policy-making and evaluation of policies in this area.

Career opportunities:
Graduates will work in: public national institutions (both central and peripheral), international and supranational institutions, research institutes and large companies in the private sector (consulting firms or companies in highly regulated sectors), in the healthcare and social services sector and NGOs.
