Obiettivi formativi del corso
Il corso presenta i principali concetti e metodologie di ricerca utilizzati nelle scienze sociali, con un focus sulla valutazione delle politiche. Questo insegnamento ha l’obiettivo di rendere gli studenti capaci di disegnare autonomamente un progetto di ricerca e di identificare le metodologie e i dati loro necessari per l’implementazione del progetto. Al termine del corso, gli studenti avranno una conoscenza basilare delle principali metodologie di raccolta e analisi dei dati nonché le competenze per disegnare un progetto di ricerca sociale.

Course Objectives
In this course students are introduced to the main concepts and methods that are used in social science research with a special focus on policy evaluation. The class seeks to prepare students to conceive of research projects of their own and identify the methodologies they would need to learn and the data they would need to gather to execute the project. After completing this course, students should have an overall understanding of the range of methodologies for data collection and analysis as well as the fundamentals for study design in the social sciences.
