Course Objectives

This course combines multiple perspectives to illuminate what entrepreneurial strategies and strategic entrepreneurship are, and how they can change the nature of competition, creating and destroying industries and generating economic growth. It considers the process of creation and development of new ventures, technologies, and business models. Furthermore, it analyzes how entrepreneurial behaviours can be achieved and stimulated within organizations. The ultimate goal is to train future managers who can recognize and manage both the potential and the threats of entrepreneurial strategies, creating and sustaining competitive advantage.

• Entrepreneurial management: innovation, change and the creation of entrepreneurial opportunities.
• Entrepreneurs as the active element in new ventures creation. Discovery and creation: alternative theories of entrepreneurial action.
• Creating and maintaining a competitive advantage.
• The creation of new business models.
• Entry in new markets.
• The growth process.
• Entrepreneurial strategies within large organizations.
• How established firms can create breakthrough ideas.
• The role of inter-organizational agreements for entrepreneurial strategies.
• Organizational renewal and change.

The exam is written on the first two exam dates and oral thereafter.
