Description of the educational path

BIEM is taught in English.

The study program shares with other Bocconi business management programs a part of the educational path (chiefly concentrated in the first three semesters) paying particular attention to the international outlook.

From the fourth semester BIEM differs from the other Degree programs:

  • the course covers the subject areas of internationalization of companies, international economics, integration policies and comparative quantitative and qualitative studies;

An in-depth study of the systems to manage the company/institutions functions characterized by multicultural environments and international connections.

Students can adapt the last part of their study plan to their individual objectives (courses only or courses and curricular internships).

In addition, the study plan includes:

  • computer skills for economics;
  • two EU languages different from the student’s native language. Italian is mandatory forstudents who are not Italian native speakers;
  • seminars to develop behavioral skills and interpretation of the competitive context also in relation with the role of the company, economic and social one.
  • final paper.

The pre-requisite to enroll in the 1st year degree program 2014-2015 is one of the following:

  • BEC Higher (Business English Certificate Higher) Cambridge English Language Assessment, minimum score ofPass, or
  • BEC Vantage (Business English Certificate Vantage) Cambridge English Language Assessment with a minimum score ofB, or
  • CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) Cambridge English Language Assessment with a minimum score of Pass, or
  • CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) Cambridge English Language Assessment with a minimum score of Pass, or
  • FCE (First Certificate in English) Cambridge English Language Assessment with a minimum score of B, or
  • IELTS (Academic International English Language Testing System) Cambridge English Language Assessment with a minimum score of 6 (minimum 5.5 in all sections), or
  • ICFE (International Certificate of Financial English) Cambridge English Language Assessment with a minimum score of Pass, or
  • ILEC ( International Legal English Certificate) Cambridge English Language Assessment with a minimum score of Pass, or
  • IPEC (International Professional English Certification Legal English) British Chamber of Commerce (Italy) with a minimum score of Pass, or
  • TOEFL IBT (ETS) Educational Testing Service with a minimum score of100, or
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma, US American High School Diploma, OIB Bac Francais Option International, GCE Diploma, US or Canadian High School Diploma taught in English
  • Native speaker of English.
