Notes:
Modules
- code 30672 ‘Quantitative methods for social sciences (Module I - Mathematics for social sciences’ and code 30673 ‘Quantitative methods for social sciences (Module II - Data analytics)’ are respectively the first and the second module of the course code 30671 ‘Quantitative methods for social sciences’;
- code 30677 ‘Machine learning (Module I - Introduction)’ and code 30678 ‘Machine learning (Module II - Deep learning)’ are respectively the first and the second module of the course code 30676 ‘Machine learning’;
- code 30667 ‘Economics (Module I - Consumer behavior & firms)’ and code 30668 ‘Economics (Module II - Macro-economic governance)’ are respectively the first and the second module of the course code 30666 ‘Economics’;
Courses divided into modules are officially passed (and can be recorded in the student academic career and certified) only after passing both modules’ examinations. The final grade is the grade point average of the two marks, which is the credit points for the course.
The average is rounded up if decimals are equal or higher than 5, rounded down if they are lower than 5.
Credit points and grades earned for the individual modules passed are taken into account for potential rankings within the University and they can be viewed by printing the unofficial academic transcript at Punto Blu.
No changes are allowed from BIG curriculum Politics and Policy Making to BIG curriculum Data, Society and Organisations; likewise, no changes are allowed from another BSc to BIG curriculum Data, Society and Organisations.
On the other hand, the following changes are permitted:
- from BIG curriculum Politics and Policy Making to other Degree Courses and vice versa.
- from BIG curriculum Data, Society and Organisations to BIG curriculum Politics and Policy Making.
Degree program changes from International Politics and Government (BIG - curriculum in Data, Society and Organisations) to other degree programs are possible only in exceptional cases (duly and objectively justified), to be evaluated by the Dean/Program Director and in agreement with the partner university.
Languages and computer skills
Detailed information on language paths and computer skills can be found in "Languages and Computer skills".
Exam sequence
Information on exam sequence, i.e. when must exams bust be taken before others are specified in the chapter on Exams.
Activities chosen by the student (electives and internship)
In order to complete the Bocconi degree, during their third year at HEC, students are required to earn 24 credits labeled as "elective activities". They can opt for 4 electives or 3 electives and an internship (internship placed in the study plan in the 1st semester of the 3rd year). Activities carried out at HEC are recorded in the academic curriculum upon "recognition" (see details about recognition procedure in Chapter 7.14.3.
In accordance with the educational objectives of the program and the ministerial tables (L-36, Political science and International relations) the program structure may be subject to variations decided by the Academic Bodies.
