Qualifying goals
The qualifying goals are:
-provide a strong interdisciplinary foundation that ranges from political, historical, sociological and legal disciplines to economic, mathematical-statistical and computer science disciplines, which constitute a distinguishing spike of Bocconi’s offer. This training is aimed at providing the tools for the understanding of political, social and economic dynamics (at national and international levels) that public institutions have to govern, as well as the interactions between private actors and the public sector;
-characterize the educational path, depending on the chosen curriculum, with:
- a broader and more comprehensive preparation on political science and public policies, focusing on their design, implementation, and ex-post evaluation, as well as on the managerial dimension of public organizations;
or
- a broader and more comprehensive preparation on computer science, focusing, in particular, on big data management in the fields of social and political sciences, as well as on data analysis through artificial intelligence tools (such as machine learning); special attention is given to some highly topical issues impacting society such as digitalization, climate change and sustainability;
- allow the customization of the study plan for broadening/deepening knowledge in topics chosen by students according to their interests, as long as they are consistent with the curriculum;
- develop abilities to apply knowledge by means of technology-based teaching/learning methodologies that foster interaction among students and their engagement with a “learning by doing” approach;
- develop soft skills (e.g., effective communication and teamwork) via class activities and external activities related to the courses; in addition, develop further skills useful for the job market through ad hoc seminars;
- foster competences in two EU languages, for effective and efficient operations in professional contexts (Italian is mandatory for non-Italian native speakers).
