The qualifying goals are to:
- Provide advanced knowledge in mathematics, computing and modeling, as well as the competences to model a real-world problem in an abstract way, to reason rigorously about mathematical models, and to code large and complex software systems involving advanced algorithms and methods such as deep learning and reinforcement learning
- Teach tools and methods of advanced machine learning systems, in the main application domains such image processing and natural language processing to develop innovative solutions
- Foster broad knowledge and experience of computing beyond machine learning and of applications of computer science to other sciences, for example to the life sciences
- Offer interdisciplinary knowledge beyond computing
- Develop critical skills and an understanding of ethical issues in computing
- Promote, besides English (language of the program), proficiency in another EU language (Italian for non-Italian native speakers).
