Course Objectives

The course aims to provide students with basic knowledge of environmental law. In particular, after analyzing the international and EU principles of the sector and the juridical notion of environment, the course analyzes the Italian environmental code.

  • Administrative organization in environmental matter.
  • Administrative proceedings in environmental matter.

Detailed Description of Assessment Methods

Assessment for attending students
  • 33% of the mark: short essay (max 500 words) on a topic of students’ choice or on one of the principles of EU environmental law as it applies in Italy
  • 33% of the mark: partial exam on the first part of the Course (closed-book examination)
  • 33% of the mark: partial exam on the second part of the Course (open-book examination)
or
  • 33% of the mark: short essay (max 500 words) on a topic of students’ choice or on one of the principles of EU environmental law as it applies in Italy
  • 66% of the mark: final written exam made up of:
- Two questions on the first part of the Course (closed-book examination)
- Two questions on the second part of the Course (open-book examination)

Assessment for non-attending students
100% of the mark: final written exam on the entire Course
