Mission & Content Summary
MISSION
The growing importance of sustainability has given rise to the concept of sustainable entrepreneurship. This relatively new concept combines economic, social, and environmental value
creation with a focus on the well-being of future generations. By concentrating on sustainable economic activities and new sources of income, it aims to address current social, economic, and environmental issues with a focus on emerging and developing countries. Entrepreneurial approaches used to solve those issues are implemented through new business models, e.g., Green & Inclusive Businesses, Social & Environmental Entrepreneurship, Low Carbon Business Models. The aim of those innovative business models is to develop new markets, generate new sources of income - especially for disadvantaged groups - and contribute to a sustainable approach to the economy. The sustainable entrepreneurship workshop allows students to acquire the basic capabilities to build, fund and scale up new businesses addressing social, economic, and environmental issues, with a focus on business model design and validation.
