Mission & Content Summary
MISSION
The course is meant to provide students with the basic elements of statistics and data analysis whose knowledge is required for the mandatory quantitative methods courses in Master of Science: M and MM.
CONTENT SUMMARY
- Introduction concepts: data sources, databases, sampling theory.
- Qualitative data: variable classification, univariate and bivariate frequency analysis.
- Quantitative data: variable classification, univariate analysis (location, spread and shape indexes), bivariate analysis (correlation).
- Random variables: probability and common distributions.
- Introduction to statistical inference: point and interval estimation.
- Introduction to statistical test: connection, means, correlation, linear regression.
