Markus Venzin is a Full Professor of Global Strategy at the Management and Technology Department of Bocconi University and the Director of the Strategic and Entrepreneurial Department at SDA Bocconi. He serves as Director of the Master of Science in International Management program at Bocconi University as well as the Double Degree in International Management Boconi-Fudan (Shanghai). He chaired the organizing committee of the Academy of International Management Conference 2008 at Bocconi University, and he has held visiting positions and teaching assignments at the University of Michigan, Fudan University (Shanghai), Copenhagen Business School, Essec (Paris), ESADE (Barcelona) and St. Gallen University. He obtained his PhD in Strategy and Organization from the University of St. Gallen and has since worked as a strategist in the manufacturing industry, founded his own consulting firm and has served as a member of supervisory and advisory boards of several multinational firms. Markus is actively involved in executive development, the facilitation of strategy workshops and consulting to senior executives in a wide range of industries. He is a frequent speaker at corporate or industry events on topics such as internationalization strategies, strategic decision making dynamics, global knowledge management systems, and the development of formal planning and control processes in large multinational firms. His latest book, Internationalization of Financial Services Firms: How Successful Firms Design and Execute Cross-Border Strategies, was published by Oxford University Press.
