The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to the major debates, topics, and methods of comparative politics with a particular focus on the European Union case. The course is divided in two parts. In the first part, the main topics will be: political development and modernization; political regimes and regime change; political institutions and political parties; political culture, political attitudes and preference formation; interest intermediation and civil society. The second part will be devoted to the analysis of the European Union.
