Obiettivi formativi del corso
Il corso ha l’obiettivo di offrire una preparazione di base in materia di analisi e di valutazione degli investimenti finanziari. Inoltre il corso introduce la strumentazione matematica necessaria per una adeguata comprensione dei corsi di teoria della finanza ed asset pricing in tempo continuo.

Programma sintetico del corso
  • L’analisi dei titoli a reddito fisso e i relativi indicatori di rendimento e di rischio L’analisi dei titoli azionari e i relativi indicatori di rendimento e di rischio (standard deviation e beta).
  • Le strategie gestione dei portafogli mobiliari: benchmarking, strategie attive e valutazione della performance.
  • Il comportamento aleatorio delle attvita’ finanziarie e le timescales implicite.
  • Introduzione ai processi di Wiener.
  • Principi di calcolo stocastico: le proprieta’ markoviane e di martingala.
  • Integrale stocastico ed equazioni differenziali stocastiche.
  • Equazioni differenziali parziali.
  • Introduzione a funzioni di variabili stocastiche ed il lemma di Ito.

Course Objectives
The course is aimed at providing with the basic tools for security analysis and valuation. Moreover, the course introduces the mathematical tools required to a working understanding of the compulsory modules in theory of finance and continuous time asset pricing.

Course Content Summary
  • Bond valuation: measuring expected return and risk.
  • Equity valuation: measuring expected return and risk (standard deviation and beta).
  • Portfolio management strategies: benchmarking, active strategies and performance.
  • Evaluation.
  • The Random Behavior of Assets and implied timescales.
  • An introduction to Wiener processes.
  • Elementary Stochastic Calculus: The Markov and martingale properties.
  • Stochastic integration and stochastic differential equations.
  • Partial differential equations.
  • Hints to functions of stochastic variables and Ito’s lemma.
