Course Objectives
By drawing upon the theoretical tools of industrial organization and game theory, this course introduces the basic concepts for analyzing the business strategies available to managers. The course is divided into three parts. The first part is devoted to the monopolist’s choice of the price, quantity, quality, and advertising in different contexts. The second part considers the strategic interaction among firms that operate in imperfectly competitive markets. The third part provides tools and models related to the theory of the firm and to the theory of incentives
