Courses previous a.y.

Since 1999 I have been teaching a wide range of courses addressing comparative public law, public law and constitutional law at Bocconi University.

Since a.y. 2020/2021 I have been the course director of Public Law (30004).

In a.y. 2018/2019 I received the Bocconi “Innovation in Teaching Awards”, thanks to innovative teaching methods (based on case-studies, interactive tools, high involvement of students) applied in the Constitutional Justice (50098) and Comparative Public Law (50096) courses.


Biographical note

I am Full Professor of Comparative Public Law at Bocconi University. Coordinator of the Research Group on Constitutional Responses to Terrorism within the International Association of Constitutional Law. Member of the Steering Committee of the Associazione Italiana di Diritto Comparato. Secretary-General of the Italian Association of Comparative and European Public Law. Vice-Director of the law review Diritto Pubblico Comparato ed Europeo. Member of Académie Internationale de Droit Comparé/International Academy of Comparative Law. Member of the Scientific Board of “Comparative Covid Law”, focused on legal responses to Covid-19 worldwide. Visiting professor in several prestigious universities and academic institutions in Europe, the United States and Latin America.


About

I have been appointed General Rapporteur of the International Academy of Comparative Law for the 2022 General Congress on the topic “Governmental policies to fight pandemics. Defining the boundaries of legitimate limitations on fundamental freedoms”. The Congress was held in Asunción, Paraguay, on October 23-28, 2022.

The book “9/11 and the Rise of Global Anti-Terrorism Law: How the UN Security Council Rules the World”, edited by Kim Lane Scheppele and me, has recently been published by Cambridge University Press (2021).

I am now member of the Steering Committee of the Associazione Italiana di Diritto Comparato.

I have been appointed as a member of the Scientific Committee of Fondazione Med-Or – Leonardo SPA.
